Deep Waters

When Isaiah speaks of deep water, he does not say it will be kept from you, or that you will be spared the crossing. The water is named plainly, spoken of directly by the One who promises to be there for all of it. What is promised is not rescue but presence in the water alongside you. It is the difference between drowning and being held, and for the one going under, that difference is everything. You will never be alone in the deep.
