The Cross Bangle

Two days after the Twin Towers collapsed, a construction worker found two steel beams standing in the wreckage in the shape of a cross. His discovery could not undo any part of what had happened, or the heartbreak that continued to follow. But a Franciscan priest said Mass at the base of the cross every Sunday through the months of the recovery, and week after week the men working in that pit came back to the symbol of hope the devastation had left standing.
