The Leather Basket

e.e. cummings wrote "i carry your heart with me," one of the best-loved poems ever written. The first line says he carries his beloved's heart, and the parenthesis tucked into that same line says he carries it inside his own heart. It is love said out loud and held quietly at the same time.

This basket is what holds the things we love at home, the books we are halfway through, a blanket within reach of a chair, or the flowers cut from the garden. The leather is hand-woven, the strands holding each other together to make something strong enough for whatever it is asked to carry.

Hand-woven full-grain leather, made in Morocco, fair trade. 11 in long, 8.5 in wide, 8.5 in tall. Each piece varies in color and grain.
