The Lotus Bangle

The lotus blooms above the water, but it roots in the mud at the bottom of the pond and stays anchored there the whole time it flowers. The stem that runs between them is hollow, open the full length, carrying air down to the dark and holding the bloom up in the light. The two ends are never out of reach of each other.
